Brock's Birthday 2020

A SAFE CELEBRATION!

Brock’s birthday is usually one of the biggest days of outreach for BSF. Last year we had 140 people that spent the day with us. With COVID this year we had to think out of the box! Some of our board members and a few volunteers still went out and safely celebrated Brock’s birthday with 11 RAK.

We focus mostly on things that Brock loved. Here were our 11 things…

  1. Breakfast at restaurants in Canal Winchester and Pickerington leaving all employees big tips.

  2. Delivered cookie to the Children’s Hospital Close to Home facility on Diley Rd.

  3. Paid for lots of golfers at Westchester Golf Course.

  4. Paid for lots of Starbucks drive thru orders.

  5. Bought and delivered lunch to the staff of 4 local churches.

  6. Had big, bright yard signs put in the courtyards of 4 assisted living facilities. These signs said – Have a Great Day, You Are Loved and Virtual Hugs.

  7. Shopped for and delivered groceries and household items to the 94 residents of David’s Way/Canal Village.

  8. Delivered cookie baskets to the winners of our -Nominate a CW teacher who is Brock Strong- contest. We also gave a cookie gift to the student that wrote the best nomination.

  9. We paid for groceries for an hour at the CW Kroger.

  10. We paid for a pizza night at Sycamore Creek Church for one of their student nights.

  11. We went to lunch and paid for the entire restaurant as well as left tips for all of the employees.

We also still had our nighttime party- just a little different. We did a drive thru where you could drop off board games to donate to NCH and be entered into a drawing for one of Brock’s 11 favorite things and get some free Kona Ice.

While not quite the same as years past, it was still an awesome day!
